What did you do today?

My dad passed away almost a year ago, ZZ.  It's really tough.  His loss was totally unexpected.  What you said is true.  I have so many amazing and fun memories with my dad.  If it wasn't for him, I would have never had the opportunity to travel the majority of the United States on my summer breaks from school.  Those were seriously the best times.

Well, yesterday I said my final farewells and laid my Mom to rest beside my Dad. On a positive note, I got to see both of my sons at the same time and had a very fulfilling visit, despite the reason for the gathering.

Kinda late but i'm sorry for your loss zz

I lost my mom a little over a year ago and the way you're coping with loss is exactly what it felt like to me. It's still hard to think about it sometimes and I miss her but at the same time, I'm moving forward with my life.

I got a new job in the education department (doesn't pay tons of money but I don't have to be affraid of losing my job, this one is until retirement). I'm also looking for a house to buy with my girlfriend and as soon as that is done, we're starting a family.

I'm quite satisfied of how I was able to bounce back after her death, I was scared of how I could react and if I would be able to cope and move forward. I can say now that I am but I'm not sure my grieving is completely over now.

It's like you said, death is another thing in life we have to deal with.

Went to Rose's parents anniversary party, they been married 60 years

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

SWAT showed up at my neighbor's house and didn't let me leave.  Once SWAT knocked the door down, the FBI showed up to investigate and let other resident's come and go as they pleased.  Just another day in Vegas...

I've never met the guy who lives in that house.  Probably won't ever meet him now because it looks like he may or may not be spending some time in prison for whatever they hell he did.  You just really never expect to see stuff like that in person.  They huge white crime scene investigation truck is sitting out front.  Didn't picture that because I'm not sure how the FBI feels about it.

According to a neighbor, this happened:

I have another friend on that street and this is what she said... The swatt team came in and arrested a guy. I talked to one detective. He said it was metro, FBI, and another group's investigation. He said he couldn't tell me what exactly it was, but that they're over internet child endangerment and to keep my kids close. they took one in custody and are now going through the whole house.

Crickey Jaggy, move out of that shithole city ASAP! Your "nice looking" neighborhood seems to be filled with criminals.

I would love to.  We were *THIS CLOSE* to moving back to Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago.  That fell through, but we're still working on a big move.

Well, moving out of Vegas is a good idea, but moving to Wisconsin is questionable..................naturally family being there could change that.

Vegas crime rate is crazy. Crime is low where I am and I plan to move to an even lower area. The older I get, the less tolerant I am of crime or police.

My car is the same, ice on the windows inside but only -2°C fortunately.

Anyone knows why this happens and how to stop it from happening ?

It's warm moist air condensing on the glass, which then freezes. I use my air-con to try and dry out the air a few minutes before I park up and try not to bring too much snow into the car on your shoes which soaks the carpets/mats. If it does still freeze, bang on the 'quick-clear heated windscreen'.......we did buy a Ford after all.

Thanks for the advice. It was very wet these last few days and it must have been the cause. My clothes were super wet when I parked it.

I'll try to put the ventilation at max speed 5 mins before parking it now. Thanks pb :)

Made over 6lbs of "Texas Red Chili" made with beef and venison.  Simmered for over 6 hours and just took a little sample.......must have self control! ;)

You should post this recipe when you post the Pot Roast recipe on the recipe thread  : CRAZY :

Woke up and did one last shovel job at the house damn drifting snow and snow plows. Then drop everything over to the in-laws who hadn't done any shoveling and shovel close to 2ft out of driveway and probably close to 3 blocking driveway in. Needless to say I worked some muscles I haven't used in a while
