DavidCore89 7,404
Amen to that. Hosts sometimes like to play with settings... "I'm gonna turn this on and see what happens". In that race (assuming it was Atomic), as soon as I got ahead you only had 1 place to pass me for the whole lap, the rest of it must have been non-stop slipstream around corners, no idea how you held onto it. Squirrel 5,180
I agree but it does take some previous track knowledge to know when slipstream is suitable for a course and when it isn't suitable. Tight twisty Compact races certainly not, the Brioso is a tricky beast to handle at the best of times, add in slipstream and you get the result from last night. If you're hosting and have any doubt over whether to include it or not it's better to leave it off. The track types listed by @zmurko definitely work with slipstream especially if everyone is in the same car. It also helps to know what type of car you're using too. The slower van and sedan races we host do benefit from slipstream but the effect of it multiplies the faster the cars go. I've noticed slipstream can even cause problems on ovals when you're using supers. Rockstar really need to have differing levels of slipstream which can be tailored to suit different classes and races but we have a one type to fit all situation and what works for one class means disaster for another.
