We have crew members from all over the world. Some of the most beautiful places that most of will never get to see. What if once a month each one of us posted a pic of something really cool from where we live. Several of you have said you would like to come to the United States. I am here so I would like to see some of the sights through your eyes. The other day I was playing with one of our new members for Egypt. Will never have the money to go but I would really love to see a pyramid. This would be so cool. The pics from Spain was beauitful. So us more.............Show me yours and I will show you mine....

Well ... very nice topic Rose especially when it comes to Egypt   .. just arrange the airplane tickets to Egypt then me and my family will show you the meaning of hospitality :D

Quick facts about the Egyptian great pyramid :

- 8000 BC ( 10,000 years ago ) Early tribal peoples migrated to the Nile River where they developed a settled agricultural economy and more centralized society.

- 6000 BC a Neolithic culture rooted in the Nile Valley.

- 3150 BC A unified kingdom ( pharaohs ) was founded by King Menes.

- There are 138 pyramids discovered in Egypt as of 2013.

- The greatest pyramid has been built on 2560 BC ( 4574 years ago ) with height 146.5 meters (481 ft)

- The Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years.

- The Pyramid was built as a tomb for King.

- The Pyramid is estimated to have around 2,300,000 stone blocks that weigh from 2 to 30 tons each and there are even some blocks that weigh over 50 tons.

- The weight of the pyramid is estimated at 5,955,000 tons

- The interior temperature is constant and equals the average temperature of the earth, 20 Degrees Celsius (68 Degrees Fahrenheit).

- The cornerstone foundations of the pyramid have ball and socket construction capable of dealing with heat expansion and earthquakes.

- The Great Pyramid is located at the center of the land mass of the earth. The east/west parallel that crosses the most land and the north/south meridian that crosses the most land intersect in two places on the earth, one in the ocean and the other at the Great Pyramid.

Sorry to prolong and if you are interested to know more stunning facts about Egyptian pyramid check the below link and now I'll leave you with some picture captured by a Russian guy and his pals hid from guards at the tourist attraction, waiting for four hours until after closing time before they scaled the ancient structure to shot it  :D

BustyRose says

@Matus - video is fine.

@Bullitt - Pictures you took are preferred.

@Prodigy - Nice pics dude

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

:default_sign0081:

I dont really want to post pictures of where I live, because the suburb I live in is one of the most boring suburbs in the US. I would rather post pictures where I have been. Recently, I was in Vegas and took a 5 hour bus tour to the Grand Canyon. Oh, I also probably should mention that I have a fear of heights!

A few interesting facts about the Grand Canyon:

* Grand Canyon National Park is one of the world’s premier natural attractions, attracting about five million visitors per year

* The Grand Canyon is part of the Colorado River basin which has developed over the past 40 million years. The canyon is the result of erosion which creates one of the most complete geologic columns on the planet.

* The South Rim of Grand Canyon averages 7000 feet/2134 m above sea level.

* About 600 deaths have occurred in the Grand Canyon since the 1870s. Some of these deaths occurred as the result of overly zealous photographic endeavors, some were the result of airplane collisions within the canyon, and some visitors drowned in the Colorado River.

Some of these rock formations are actually named by the Indians. Do you see the three animals/birds...

Here the link to a FB pic folder from a camping trip last year.  I see a lot of beautiful places when I go out, I just suck at taking pics.

*bows* i thank you for your kind words sir

dont know about the wisdom part, i write as i see the world opening front of my eyes..

im broken man, blind for the colors of life, deaf to joys of life..

"Born from silence, silence full of it

A perfect concert my best friend

So much to live for, so much to die for

If only my heart had a home

Sing what you can't say

Forget what you can't play

Hasten to drown into beautiful eyes

Walk within my poetry, this dying music

- My loveletter to nobody" -Dead Boys Poem - Nightwish

That's what i call the "sound" of wisdom not the wisdom thoughts ^_^

I took all of these pictures personally.  They are all from several years ago, but there hasn't been that much change in scenery overall.  Perhaps a few different buildings, but you get the idea. :)

This is looking towards the southeastern area of Portland from downtown.  As you can see, the weather is nice and Mt. Hood is visible in the background.

Downtown_PDX1_zps90511727.jpg

This is looking towards downtown from the southeastern side of Portland.  The bridge pictured is called the Hawthorne Bridge.  We have quite a few bridges in our city, each with their own distinctive look.

DSC04674_zps1f23352e.jpg

This is another view of downtown, but this typically how the weather looks around here.  Notice that it's not heavy rain, but rather always overcast.  We do have amazing summers if you are into the sun though.

DSC09678_zps18fce68d.jpg

We can also get a bit of snow as well, but usually not quite this heavy.  This was taken outside my old apartment back in 2007.  The bridge pictured is called the Fremont Bridge.

Bored of the city?  You're in luck!  The rugged Oregon coast is a nice day trip where the weather is usually cooler, but pleasant.  This was taken in Lincoln City, Oregon (which is a little under two hours by car from the city).

Beach_LC_zps89f83354.jpg

This is another picture taken on the same trip to Lincoln City.  There is also a casino nearby, and I used to be a regular poker player there. :)

Here's another great (more famous) city that makes for a good day trip.  This is of course Seattle, Washington (which is just under three hours away by car).  Pictured is the famous Space Needle, which has a decent restaurant inside.

DtwnSeattle_Ferry_zpsf075cfb7.jpg

This is more of the actual skyline of Seattle.  I took this while on a ferry bound for Bremerton.

PikePlace_Market_zps1bf6719c.jpg

This is the famous Pike Place Market of Seattle.  This is a very active place--especially during the summer.  It's also where many of the old-time locals buy their groceries.  Fresh fish (especially salmon) is always available.  That is the Elliott Bay in the background.

Seattle_Rainier_zpseb624927.jpg

If you look closely, you can see Mount Rainier in the background.

If you've never been to the Pacific Northwest, you should definitely check it out.  Maybe I'm biased, but I don't think you will regret it.

Prodigy--those pictures of Egypt are absolutely incredible. :)

I would love to visit one day; so much history and great scenery.

Very nice job! :)

Also, Matus--loved the video of Finland!

Cotick--excellent pictures of the Grand Canyon.

Hannabis--it's always great seeing pictures from the other side of the Pacific Northwest.  Very nice! :)

Where about is home?  More people call me by my last name than my first, Jason is popular (3 where I work) where as Handysides is definitely not... and it's funny you mention William, that's my son's middle name.
