I'm on the verge of spending a lot on ability cards and came across a way to get your hat back if it gets shot off. If you form a posse, you will be able to access the posse outfits and just like that, your hat is back. i believe you use the left on the d-pad to access the posse menu.

I have been utilizing dead eye with slow and steady consistently lately, keeping my dead eye core full eating meat and it’s really powerful. I think ability cards are stupid but if they exist I may as well exploit them to win shootouts and destroy randoms in free mode.

Doesn't match the description of any of the cards.

This is the set I have settled on:

  • Slow and Steady III: While Dead Eye is active you take a much less damage and headshots do not kill you outright. You cannot run or sprint. Unlocks at rank 24.
  • Winning Streak III: Each consecutive shot on the same target does much more damage than the last. Unlocks at rank 48.
  • Peak Condition III: You inflict a lot more damage if your stamina bar is at least 75% full. Unlocks at rank 14.
  • Never Without One III: Your hat will block one headshot and then fall off. While not wearing a hat you take less damage. Unlocks at rank 46.

While Slippery Bastard is OP in CQC, Slow and Steady is by far the best dead eye card IMO. Winning Streak speaks for itself. Peak Condition is great if you like me don't do a whole lot of belly flopping which draws a shitload of stamina. Also, on horseback it's constantly active. Never Without One I don't really think I could live without at this point.

  • All Dead Eye Cards:
    • Dead Eye no longer gives perfect accuracy (except when using the card Paint It Black)
  • The Short Game:
    • Required distance to the enemy has been reduced, with the damage dealt increasing the closer the player gets to the enemy
    • This Ability becomes active for two seconds when damaging a nearby enemy
  • Peak Condition:
    • Sprinting drains less Stamina at all Tiers
    • Maximum damage bonus has been reduced
    • Damage bonus now scales with the fill percentage of the Stamina Tank
    • This Ability becomes active for two seconds when dealing damage
    • This Ability becomes active when stamina is below full
  • Slow and Steady:
    • Dead Eye drains when damage is taken
  • Eye for an Eye:
    • This Ability now works while the player is in Dead Eye
    • Dead Eye on each given headshot has been reduced at Tier 2 and Tier 3 to allow consistency with other Ability Cards
    • Dead Eye is only granted if the headshot kills an enemy
  • The Unblinking Eye
    • This Ability becomes active while in Eagle Eye
    • This Ability becomes active while in Dead Eye
  • Winning Streak
    • This Ability becomes active for two seconds when damaging an enemy

I've switched Peak Condition for Eye for an Eye to counteract the drain Slow and Steady now has when taking damage. Have yet to test it out, though. 

Now that I think about it, Unblinking Eye might be even better.

I guess I'll still be using my original card build as it will now help in PVE hunting with the Eagle Eye. Though the butcher is being stingy with the payout. 

Slow and steady was always a stealthy build so it's a hide and shoot scenario and also keep a lot of meat handy to replenish the Dead Eye.

I didn't expect Rockstar to actually change the ability card function that gamers already paid for without compensation. Oh well

Peak condition is worthless to me for the most part since I'm mainly on my horse in free roam. I haven't settled on a free roam set after the change. I hold my own pretty well in most situation WITHOUT using deadeye and only resort to it when the situation merits it.

I don't play the Showdown series, so I have no idea what's best for them. Any suggestions would be helpful.
