Dodge 7,265
ST: Picard is the newest rendition of the late Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future for humanity. Picard takes place 15 years after the the final feature film for the TNG crew, Nemesis. It has been met with mixed reviews. Old trek fans hate it, new trek fans love it. It is told in a Serial Storytelling fashion. The following will contain spoilers. If you have seen this show, please comment on your thoughts regarding this new trek treasure. SPOILERS The year is 2399. 15 years have passed since Data sacrificed his life saving Picard aboard Shinzon's Scimitar. Picard was involved in the evacuation attempt of Romulus when their sun was threatening to go supernova. The evacuation was disrupted by rogue synthetics that attacked the Utopia Planitia Shipyards, on Mars, where the fleet of ships to be used in the evacuation of Romulus were being built. The rogue synthetics killed everyone at the shipyard, forcing the Federation to ban synthetic lifeforms. Without the fleet, the Federation was unable to evacuate most of Romulus as promised. Picard was determined to continue the evacuation plan as best as possible. When he was denied, he put his commission on the line as a guarantee that he could pull it off. Starfleet called his bluff and accepted his resignation. Some years later, Picard is at his vineyard home in Labarre, France. A woman comes to see him saying she is a synthetic and needs his help. Her name is Doj. While in San Fransisco in search of her truth, Doj is murdered by a Tal Shiar death squad. In mourning, Picard learns that Doj is a biological synthetic, and that her positronic matrix was created by a single positron from Data's matrix. He also learns, she has a twin sister. The first 6 episodes are all about Soji, the twin sister, discovering who she is. Picard finding old friends, and some new ones to aid him in tracking Soji to an abandoned Borg Cube in Romulan space being used for scientific research on the Borg. JustHatched 12,123
I want to watch this, but not buying CBS All Access Quote The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it. Was interested to start with but didn’t get me hooked. I might watch more at some point. Dodge 7,265
The first couple of episodes are a bit dry. They are setting the tone a bit. It warms up in 3 and 4 as the back story for the past 15 years in filled in a bit. Spinnaker1981 974
I enjoyed the first 4 episodes... It feels a lot more star trek than the fast paced latest movies...
