I have never ridden offroad and only have a small amount of hours riding on road so it would be a big learning curve to go offroad but it would be so much fun.

ITs amazing how bad the majority of car drivers are with bikes. The first time I was on the road, I was test riding a bike and rode 300m down the road and then a car didn't see me and pulled in front of me. Welcome to riding haha.

I am extremely paranoid and always ride as if I'm invisible and always have a contingency plan for "if that car does this I'll do this" which is quite mentally taxing but I think it really needs to be done. Ultimately whether your in the wrong or right according to the road rules, your the one who is going to lose so you need to pay attention to everything.

Sadly, here in Aus at least, a lot of riders are so ignorant and constantly hang in the worse places on the road and make so many stupid decisions that will get them injured one day..

But in the next few years I hope to get a 4x4 again and trail bike to go offroad. I usually very cautious and stay well within my skill limit so I should be relatively safe :P

Right then here's my history.

It all starts in 1987 with my first car, a Mk2 Ford Escort 1600 Sport (actual picture of the car moments before i rolled it!!) Which i owned for about 7 months.

Then i went on to a Mk1 escort in Pillarbox red, full RS interior, roll cage (just in case), RS alloys Bilstein suspension, LSD, high lift cam, 1600 crossflow. She was a beast. (Til i crashed into the back of another car and wrote her off 3 months later).

Not an actual pic but the closest i oould find.

Didn't own a car for about eight years after that then i bought a Mini 950 off my mate for £50,. It was a right shed, one of the windows was cardboard and i had to bump start it everytime i wanted to drive it but i must say i loved the "go kart" handling.  That got burnt out by some numptys and i didn't own a car for a bit (wasn't insured at the time, skint) till i started a job where i needed one in 2003ish.

BMW E30 318I Touring. (no pic) Loved this car. LOVED THIS CAR!! (No pic)

Then i bought a VW Transporter T4, lowered with Audi RS6 alloys on it (kinda like this) which was great for chucking my mountain bike in and going to Downhill races in.

Got a bit pissed off driving a 1.9 turbo diesel van and wanted something fast so this then made way for an Audi 2.8 Quattro, a lovely, 4 wheel tyre screaming petrol drinking beast!! (Actual pic)

Then i got bit by an off road bug, sold the Audi and bought a Land Rover Discovery and had a whale of a time blasting around the hills where i live till i realised they cost an absolute shitload of money to run due to the hammering they have off road. (actual pic)

Then i went back to the BMW E30 Touring, this time a 325i (actual pic)

I Love these cars and will own another...

Then a very good friend of mine offered me his BMW E60 535 M Sport, i took him up on the offer and owned this for about a year but FUCK ME, they are expensive to own!!! (not actual pic)

Which brings me to my current car, a 2006 VW Golf GTI DSG (flappy paddle super fast gear change thingy) (Actual pic taken overlooking my beautiful hometown)

They even look good in beige......

I was so close to buying a mk1 Mexico lookalike, but it was an absolute heap of shit. I bought a mk2 xr2 instead, it was also a heap of shit.

I'll dig out some pics of my cars, they're pretty boring really....

These are my early cars.  I'll post the later ones another time, as I can't find the photos I need atm.

Alright.  Prepare to be left speechless.  No, no, no......the other kind of speechless.

First ever car.  1972 LJ Torana 1300.

20th April 1988 to 27th April 1988.  RIP you piece of shit.

Paid zero $$$ for it but I still believe I got shafted on the deal.

Mine had faded & cracked dark purple paint.  I swear it was house paint put on with a roller.  It was that bad.

Actually crashed this car into a bank (dirt bank....not an actual building bank) 2 weeks before I got my license.  Drove it home using the choke because the throttle cable snapped when the engine came off its mountings.    :D

Three weeks later (had my license for a whole week now) the engine blew up.  Gave it to a mechanic friend of mine & said "do what you want with it".  He didn't seem very happy.

The GTR XU1 version of my Torana actually won the Bathurst 1000 (called the Hardie-Ferodo 500 back then) in 1972 with Peter Brock at the wheel.  It beat the mighty Ford Falcon XY GT-HO Phase III.

1984 Nissan Bluebird GXL  I think that's what it was called.  Don't really care.

From May 1988 to about October 1988.

etuBPlc.jpg

This was just an interim car after the Torana blew up.  I just needed something cheap & reliable to get me to work & back.

A friend worked at the local Datsun/Nissan dealership, so I got it at cost/trade-in price.  Pretty sure I got shafted on that deal too.

The work-horses.

1984 Nissan Urvan.  October 1988 to July 1992

1991 Nissan Urvan.  July 1992 to about 2005.  (was used as a skip bin for the last 5 years of it's life....literally)

rae8lod.png

To be honest, both of these vans actually served me well.  They were nearly always loaded up with tools & building materials etc & they hardly ever broke down or caused me any grief.

I kept the white van after I bought my next car.  It was parked out the back of the shed & was literally used as a skip bin.  I'd put all my old building materials & rubbish in it.

When it was full, I'd drive it to the tip/dump & empty it.  One time it never came back home.  Pretty sad really.

The car ive got at the minute is a Lexus CT 200 hyrbrid and the girlfriend has a Chrysler Ypsilon - quite an attractive little car.. main body is blue and the bonnet/roof is black. It was a special edition released for the Man of Steel film if I remember correctly

Ford Kak also works in English. I once slept in the back of one of them after a gig in Scarborough. No mean feat for someone who is 6'3.

im about 6`1 (187cm) and i cant even conjure a thought that i would sleep in KA, so my friend ill say that is a true feat of hero, KA is a simple car for a people who needs to get from A to point B cause performance aint a word that you can use on KA, i give you example: first of all it has 1.3L engine same KENT engine that has been used on 1950`s ford Anglias, it has 50hp, ford promises 0 to 100kph in 24seconds, i tested and 0 to 80kph with one passanger it took a stunning 46 seconds and 0-100kph i never got that far cause i started from 0 and after 5km it had top speed of 95kph, top speed i got with this SPORT-SUV-COUPE-FORD was bit scary 101kph downhill, with empty trunk without backseat and i even left my cellphone home...

I also had the misfortune of owning a Ford Ka. Even as my first car I hated it and to make matters worse it was purple!

Gradually upgraded to my RX8:

Had to sell it before returning to full time education as I could barely afford to run it when I was working! It only managed 18mpg - expensive with UK petrol prices! It was great fun to drive though, really miss it.

I plan on getting an Impreza WRX when I (hopefully) graduate and get a proper job. Until then I'm relying on public transport :(

EDIT: Until then I'll just pretend with my Sultan RS and Karuma :D

just bought this truck the other day traded in my 2007 dodge dakota. it is a 2012 ford xlt. so for any motor heads i have a question. i really want to put a custom exhaust on this truck and give it some rumble it is 5.0 v8 i think i have narrowed the exhaust down to a 3in flowmaster haven't decided between duels or single yet or a 4in diamond eye exhaust both systems from the cat back. any suggestions based on knowledge or experience appreciated i really don't want a loud obnoxious exhaust just definitely want more then what factory has. plus the added mpg and power benefits wont hurt
