VANS Official 156 Posted April 8, 2019 Share Posted April 8, 2019 (edited) This weeks Van Society Midweek Motorsport event will a Top Gear 'Reasonably Priced Car' night featuring the Maibatsu Penumbra. After a brief meet up in free roam we will launch a playlist of races using the Penumbra. We will be racing 'contact' on the night so please be aware of our racing rules. We will also start with a run on the Top gear Test Track so please familiarise yourself with this track so you are not at a disadvantage on the night. Despite looking the part we soon remembered how slow the Penumbra was, we had a night of sedate racing but good company. We split the field in two based on a qualifying session on the Top Gear Test Track. The drivers were split based on the following lap times. Group A Drivers Trashy, Paulie, BKmoto, Stappen & Mulder Group B Drivers DubG, Dave, Chubb & Catman. RPC Penumbra Results Race 01 winners: Trashy Group A - Chubb Group B Race 02 winners: Stappen Group A - DubG Group B Race 03 winners: Paulie Group A - Dave Group B Race 04 winners: Mulder Group A - Dave Group B Race 05 winners: Stappen Group A - DubG Group B Race 06 winners: Stappen Group A - Dave Group B Race 07 winners: BKmoto Group A - Dave Group B Race 08 winners: Paulie Group A - DubG Group B Race 09 winners: BKmoto Group A - Dave Group B Race 10 winners: Mulder Group A - Dave Group B Group winner 50pts, dropping 10pts for each position. Well done to our Group Winners, Group A BKmoto and Group B SkyeDave. The winner of the best looking car was Chubb. Great tracks, numbers and nice looking cars, only thing that lacked was speed but it made it also pretty fun and different-ish 😄 The groups thing was very nice and is defo something to use again for other events. And I like to use some of those tracks defo again soon! The feedback from the Grouping has been good, might start to use it regularly. Might tweak it a little, might leave it as it is.
