You go to the friend tab and try to invite them to your session and it says "friend invites are disabled till you both have completed the online tutorial" . I'm a level 120 , i vaguely remember doing it till i got to the LTS tute and quit. But since the xmas update this has been stopping me from sending invites to specific friends. Anyone know what's the deal with this? is there a way to start the tutorial back up and finish it? Is it something my low level friend has to do? im sure hes finished it too hes online all the time. What can i do or someone else do to activate the invites again? been searching online and haven't found anything usefull, anyone solved this ? It seems to be at their discretion when it's working again and when it's not. Like last night was fine. For the most part job invites are okay. The problem is trying to invite people through the menu/PSN. You can also join on people already in a lobby (sorta) if you go to "Join Friends" where hopefully it'll pair you up with a friend/crew member already in a session that is NOT private. As far as I know there's no real solution to it. Be sure you are NOT in the game when you unlink. Launch the game, play a bit. Then leave the game and go back to the RSC page and re-link. I could not join his lobby because of the tutorial glitch. Letting people know what's up via Shoutbox is key. Funny enough, there's usually always someone who isn't affected by this and can be joined/sent invite. So communicating through the shoutbox like Beez suggested is usually the best way and we can always find a solution / workaround. Luckily invites to jobs/PLs seem to still work. Thats when problems with invites started so im guessing something codewise they added or messed with in that update is what's causing the problems. Besides Sony is still "figuring out" online gaming as we speak , they are not exactly veterans to it. well i guess theres nothing to do but wait for them to unfuck themselves lol. JusTokenII 160 Posted January 6, 2015 Share Posted January 6, 2015 Here is what you do, Instead of inviting via the friends list, invite via the online>crews>friends crews>click on the crew of the friend you are trying to invite>click your friends name and send the invite. I have had nearly %100 success using this workaround. I understand we're supposed to be getting heists, but they don't seem to be concerned at all about the broken shit. If your friend isn't in the crew, invite via the friends crews list. Cockstar doesn't give a shit about anything but profit. Shame really cause they used to be a good company. Now they just halfass everything. Good game, but broken almost beyond repair. Instead, invite via the Online menu, goto Crews, If your friend is not in this crew, then select Friends Crews, then select the crew your friend belongs to, click View Members, and select the friend you wish to invite. For XDBX, its even easier, Just go to the same Online tab, click Crews, click Domestic Battery, View Members, then select the member you wish to invite. If i link my account i cant join anyone... You can even do that during a job (in the PL for example). Beez 5,091 Posted January 23, 2015 Share Posted January 23, 2015 What I've learned recently. It's good practice to have a TDM as the first job in a playlist. Then I can hide somewhere and go into the pause menu to send invites to those who didn't get in beforehand. This should put them in as a spectator ad they will be in for the 2nd job. I've been successful and unsuccessful with this method. Pause>>Online>>Crew>>Domestic Battery>>View Crew members. Then you can select the player and send an invite. But last night it didn't work, all I could send to the player was a PSN message not a game invite. I think you can also do this through the Friends menu (and I tried that too last PL) it didn't work either so it could come down to problems on the invitee's end.
