I noticed during a race last night how much the super boost actually helps, and it appears that there may be members of the crew that don't know how it's done.  I was able to go from 6th to 1st from the launch using the super boost.

I think everyone knows how the normal boost works; jam the accelerator when "Go!" pops up.  This is definitely superior to a normal start, but there is a better way.  If you hold the accelerator to full before the countdown starts, then during the countdown as the "1" begins to fade you quickly release the accelerator only to immediately reapply to full you get a SUPER boost!

Here is a video by Broughy1322 explaining the process.  It really works!

I'm sure you have helped many crew members.

Don't take my comments personally, I didn't want it to come across in that way, my negative attitude was aimed at the YouTuber.

I take it you don't really like him...

To be fair to Broughy though, the video is 6 months old.  It wasn't old news released as new.  Just new to me :)

I do like him, his information is probably the best around when it comes to racing, but there's something about the whole "If I can get 400 likes on this it would be awesome" that I dislike.

I guess I come from a breed of gamers that keep their gaming secrets to themselves instead of trading them in for some more 12 year old subscribers that call you "awesome"

First time I hear about super boost

Looks hard to do though.

Could be useful for drag racing but for normal tracks with turns, it's kinda pointless.

Could give an advantage during crew challenges but that's it :)

I'll give it a try :)

If you use it and all of the other cars on the grid don't, you'll accelerate into 1st place, even from as low as 8th on the grid.

I do it a lot, but not all of the time as it can fail easier than the regular boost. When it works, you'll keep accelerating at a higher rate than anyone else (even with identical cars) until you reach a corner.

I wouldn't use it in contact races when you're not at the front of the grid, unless you're skilled enough to weave through the grid without crashing into cars in front. Average drivers will just end up in someone's rear or cause even more chaos.

It's a big advantage in contact races if you start upfront though, as you can probably avoid having people crash into you in the first coner.. Other than that, it probably gives as much advantage as going over a curb.

On the topic of "mechanics" .. I'm kinda surprised I don't see any talk of (for lack of a better term, because these vehicles are automatic unfortunately) "double clutching". I can't do it very well and under racing conditions I'd be a fool to try it.

I do that sometimes, certain cars have a habit of getting caught in the wrong gear, especially going uphill.

I never knew about this either. Only slightly better and would only help when its DC vs DC :P

This probably goes without saying, but a race is won and lost through corners so if you don't under stand racing lines then learn a bit about it and your will improve drastically.

You actually almost get a speed boost when you come out of a corner perfectly.
