silenttigercd 863
Hi crew, I just want to update you on my communication via headset and thought this was the best place to do so. I purchased a headset shortly after joining the crew in anticipation for the heists update with the intention of speaking to you guys. As I'm sure you've noticed, and in accordance with my screen name, I've remained silent throughout most of our meetings. I'm aware some people have spoken to me and I haven't replied which is very rude of me. This has made me feel terrible because I really don't want to be rude to anyone! The truth is, my social skills in real life are pretty awful following some unfortunate events last year. I'm also quite new to online gaming and find speaking through the headset a daunting and uncomfortable experience. I'm trying to overcome these hurdles and am making steady progress in real life and hope I will be able to talk more through the headset as time goes on. What I'm trying to say is: I'm really sorry to the people I've ignored - I really don't mean to be rude to you guys as being part of this crew has truly revolutionised my gaming experience. I just feel so much more comfortable with the mic muted at the moment. By the way, I'm going back to university tomorrow so will only be online at weekends for the next month or so. Sorry for the dreary post - I feel you all deserve an explanation. 4 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83651

Jaggy 2,811
Don't worry about it. There's quite a few people in the crew who have mics, but don't use them very often. It's not rude. Don't feel pressured to use your mic. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83653
DeaD_GooN 1,312
Don't let it bother you. I doubt anyone in the crew will hold it against you. I have my moments where I just dont feel like talking. I may just be lazy or there might be rambunctious kids screaming in the background. So I just mute the mic. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83654
Dodge 7,265
I should mute myself more often. It's not a problem tiger. I heard the honking horn during SRL today. I got the message. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83659
zmurko 7,622
Don't worry about it tiger, really. I'm not comfortable with mics either and will for the most parts be silent too. I dont speak much IRL either, I usually only speak if I have something meaningful to say. I get a bit "chattier" if I have a few drinks (as most people do, probably why they call alcohol a social lubricant), but I don't really drink alone at home. Being in this crew and buying the mic has actually helped me get out of my shell a bit, if you believe it or not. I definitely enjoy gaming with you, silent or not, and that's what matters the most. 6 Quote S U N D A Y R A C I N G L E A G U E Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83674
djw180 7,005
I'm the same, not at all a chatty person. I have the mic for heists mainly. Other than that I may say "hello" at the start of a playlist and "thanks" at the end, with the occasional "sorry for hitting you, I forgot this wasn't non-contact", that's about it. So I wouldn't worry about it at all. 2 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83699

ScottyB 2,086
Yeah don't feel bad, just pretend you don't have a mic or you can always use the shoutbox if you can access it easy enough as most members are on both. I was exactly the same. I'm a quiet and reserved person, especially with a big group. As I got to know people more I talk more. I'm still pretty quiet during PLs because it can be hard to talk when there are a fair few others talking too. When your out of the PLs and just playing with a few people, and when you get comfortable with them try talking a little. It's a lot easier online where you can just turn off the playstation and not have to talk to them and you will probably never see anyone face to face. It will help a lot to start here and then do the same thing in real life. I do understand where your coming from though and it is hard at the start, especially with more dominant personalities, but you will get there. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83706

Pb76 3,952
I don't like people either, so rarely use my mic, only really use it for insults. just kidding, I'm a quiet guy in a house full of noise 2 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83715
Squirrel 5,180
There's always certain louder members of the crew who do take over or like me who won't shut up after a drink! 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83717
Banketelli 3,655
As you can see, there are many that feel the same as you. Including me. We all have our reasons for not being so talkative. 2 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83746
Beez 5,091
Yep, don't worry about it Tiger, there are many of us like you and you will not be judged badly for being quiet. I was the same way and still am to a lesser degree. Some of it is just becoming more familiar with your crew mates and some of it is just having a "fuck it" attitude. One of my problems is I'll make a funny comment (or at least I think so) and it's met with silence, then I realize I muted my headset. By then the moment has passed. 2 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83749

Fido_le_muet 5,198
I have a mic too but rarely talk. Mainly because I only understand half of what you guys are saying because of all your accents Also because I only talk when I have something interesting to say. Which doesn't happen often 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4073-hello-ps3/page/2/#findComment-83779
