FPV in a video game is much more different than real life.  When I drive my car in real life, I can see what's around me unlike in GTA.  In GTA, all you can see is your dashboard and what's outside your windshield.  In real life, I can see what's on the side of me and behind me.

Would you prefer the people who have issues with FPV sit out the TDM or race and just wait for the next job (with no camera lock) to pop up?  I don't think it's fair of people to not contribute to a death match and stand around doing nothing for 10 minutes.  Racing is another subject as it's not a team effort and it doesn't really matter if one person gets a DNF as it doesn't affect a team.

I just think it would be shame to have several players drop out of a job based on a view or health issues, technically we live our lives in FPV and I'm not seeing people vomiting on the side of the road on the way to the shop.

I play jobs that I actually dislike on a regular basis, If I left the PL then I wouldn't get back in.

I guess it would be handy to know who's gonna quit and at what point in the PL, helps the host to know what to expect.

I fly in FPV and I tolerate the other jobs in FPV because everyone is the same boat and backing out isn't fair on the team members and a little rude to the host in my book. But that being said, I have experienced a little nausea when in FPV (nothing in the way of projectile vomiting or anything) there is of course a massive difference between in game FPV and IRL FPV like the other 4 senses we have.....

I leave the view unlocked and then its down to personal preference...

Can't we as a crew just have a FPV night once a week that way no one misses out

Of course.  That way people who have a hard time with FPV can sit that playlist out.

I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass on this subject, just trying to show the other side of things.  It's not that I hate FPV, it's actually kind of cool, but when it causes some health issues, it sucks.  Once I do a FPV job, I feel sick the rest of the night and it ruins the playlist or random job hopping.  I wouldn't wish that kind of suffering on anyone.

I've had severe issues with motion sickness since I was a kid. Gaming, riding in cars, and airplanes used to be a big problem.

I never go anywhere without drammamine.. I know not everybody likes to take pills, but it does help a lot, especially with the eye twitching thing and nauseous feeling. It's horrible.

I do prefer 3rd person in general, but also like 1st person. I would be up for anything. If I do create something, though, I won't lock the camera, just for courtesy for you guys that don't like it.

....I read you either get more money or RP for doing all the heists in FPV so I will be doing that as well.

......

Dani is right.

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/12/16/grand-theft-auto-5-online-heists-finally-revealed

Within the heists if the whole team completes them in FPV then you can get a bonus. Obviously doing the whole thing in FPV  isn't compulsory but if you want to achieve that bonus then when selecting a team for a particular heist it will be something you will need to discuss beforehand.

As for the controls, not only can you alter the button layout and sensititiy but you also have the following options for that view.

Head bobbing

Ragdoll

Combat Roll

Third Person Cover

All of those can be turned on or off, if FPV is something that is making you feel uncomfortable then experiment with the options to see if it can help. FPV does make it feel like a completely different game, some things can't be done in that view though, picking something up in a cargobob is near impossible.

If someone has a real problem with FPV but would like to compete in the PL then they should contact the host and check if any jobs will be locked to it.

I don't mind tagging my jobs as FPV if a tag is made for it. It will make compiling PL's easier as well for those wanting an FPV night or a TPV night.

I bought some Dramamine and have taken it when I start to feel nauseous/dizzy.  It actually made me sleepy and out of it.  It's so crazy how medication affects people.  It did work with the dizziness though.  Just had to decide if I needed to take a nap shortly after taking it.

I've been trying to use first person but the major problem is that it just doesn't work half as well as CoD. It doesn't feel natural and I love FPS games. The GTA5 approach feels poorly conceived and doesn't seem to work in application. If you take cover in first person, backing away from the wall has you directly facing the wall you've come off of which has gotten me killed nearly every time I've attempted that maneuver in a DM. First person driving/racing is excellent in my opinion. Now that I have it set to independent camera mode driving is in first person, but when I get out of the car it automatically returns to first person.

Even on PS3 I use the hood view when driving. Now the experience feels nearly the same control wise on both systems, but I can use the detailed interior view on PS4 so I know my speed and it feels less bouncy than the hood view.

Change you settings so cover is always in 3rd person.

Or roll away from cover.

I don't mind FPV and use it occasionally in free roam for fun. Riding a motorcycle is pretty crazy! The problem is that Im not used to it which gives me a severe disadvantage in everything (which i guess is why they have a lock on it).

Personally I really dislike that option.. You should be able to play how you want too. Even if it was a 50/50 preference split to what players prefer, that divides up the small amount of people who actually play jobs making the likely hood of actually finding a decent size lobby even less.

They have designed the game to switch seamlessly between the views so they shouldn't force one or the other against everyone else.

They should have added other options well before they added that but you get what you get

I have everything I can have set to third person while in first person and it still seems to happen sometimes. I'll still use first person when necessary or if I'm just in the mood to(the guns in particular look awesome), but I think I've fallen back into 3rd person preference.

Don't mind a bit of FPV, but certainly not all the time.  A couple of jobs in a PL are ok for me. I even use FPV in freeroam at times, mainly when cruising around on one of my slower bikes or when flying (depends on the aircraft).

I don't like it when things are going too fast or getting too hectic though, like in technical races or GTA races. There is just too much crap going on the screen for me to handle :D

Changing combat roll and cover to third person and turning off the head bobbing and ragdoll did help in my case. Same with lowering the sensitivity for driving.

But overall, third person view is still my preferred view.

I think we all agree FPV could use some work. It's nice to have for fun, but it really does feel rushed together for next gen P.R. stuff. Maybe they can work on creating a FPV that feels natural for the next round in series. But rarely in games that offer first and third do they both shine equally.
