Drew_Watkins 51
Have you taken an hour or so to really just explore the GTAO map? I mean just walking around and keeping an eye for all the details R* has placed. All the little towns, districts, cultural territories are amazing to see in such a large map. There's so much to enjoy just exploring the map. The architecture of all the buildings, the transitions between different environments. Taking a drive from South Los Santos to Paletto Bay you don't feel like one environment just stops at a line and the next one begins, they have created a true geography. Think of how much planning they put into the map considering how many jobs have been created on the same map that have such a different use of the map features. I think in a few years GTA will be such an engrossing game to play. I can see a virtual living world happening in the near future with GTA Online. With full interiors in every building, a hustling economy where you either work or steal to survive, capitalist business ventures, player based governments and officials. I think it could lead to a satirical real life MMO. 3 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4325-gta-exploration-thoughts/ Share on other sites
Jaggy 2,811
Yes, I love it. Most of my free roam time is spent just exploring the map. I'm pretty sure I've covered every inch of that map. I'm always looking for unique places to make custom jobs or take pictures. My favorite place is the trail that goes around Mount Gordo, past the house with the pumpkin patch. There are some small lakes that are really pretty. There's also a lot of beautiful waterfalls in the game too. 2 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4325-gta-exploration-thoughts/#findComment-70017 Share on other sites
G37 3,445
I've been doing this since January of 2014. That's when Free Roam with randoms got boring for me. I'd much rather do a solo session, game with friends or with the crew than do anything with randoms (who are more than likely to not play the game as it's intended, anyway). Not to say I don't like occasional Free Roam take over with friends/crew, because I do, it's just not as fun with all the "nanny" factors in the game: passive mode, mental state, glitches, etc. Only time I like to see randoms is when it's during a job. ScottyB 2,086
I have noticed little bits and pieces and it's quiet amazing.. Never really taken the time to get around on foot and really look at things though. Lots of cool hidden things around and I would like to start to look around more. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4325-gta-exploration-thoughts/#findComment-71247 Share on other sites
Fido_le_muet 5,198
Most people don't realize how detailed this game is. The way the npcs have their own life, the small details in the environment. This game is amazing. Unfortunately it's toned down in GTAO. If you really want to see all these details, you have to do it in single player. Try following a npc on foot. They talk on the phone, go shopping, go home... 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4325-gta-exploration-thoughts/#findComment-71248 Share on other sites
