zebedee505050 71
Could someone explain to me why i am getting crew requests e.g land races, death matches etc,but when i get there the host is not the person that invited me. So how is this happening because i think i am going to be playing a crew member/s and i am playing against randoms who apparently don't want to play fairly. Just fed up getting bounced about from session to session when i could be playing with my real crew members Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4600-false-crew-request/ Share on other sites

Dodge 7,265
I moved this to a more suitable thread. To answer your question, I think when the Host sets the Lobby to "Open", it will send an invite to everyone on the Friends list that is already in that lobby. So say a random sends me an invite to a race. I join. If the room is "Open", then everyone on my friends list that is online at that time will receive an invite to the same race from me. Does that make sense? 2 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4600-false-crew-request/#findComment-73905 Share on other sites
Torrid 653
If someone has their invites as open when looking for some people to join a job they are hosting and an XDBX member joins that job, it will send out invites via the XDBX member to their crew and friends even though they are not the host. It's Rockstar's solution to get the most possible invites out to fill an open invite job. I moved this to a more suitable thread. That's how I understood it too. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4600-false-crew-request/#findComment-73906 Share on other sites
zebedee505050 71
Thank you for a quick reply, even when you know the answer it's still frustrating knowing you might not be with that crew member who you thought had sent you the invite (wow). Also thanks for putting this topic in the right place.(i am a muppet doing things like this). 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4600-false-crew-request/#findComment-73908 Share on other sites
truelife98 1,143
I may be wrong but i believe it is the auto invite and play option which then sends game invites to everyone who is in the lobbies friends or crew that are online. i believe the lobby open or closed is just for people searching jobs. I may be wrong though 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4600-false-crew-request/#findComment-73957 Share on other sites
G37 3,445
Another thing is a lot of us also job hop a lot. It can be very, very difficult to find a suitable random race/TDM/etc. As mentioned an invite will automatically be sent to crew members depending on the match making. So for the few seconds you're reading about a job and realize it's shit, that invite will still be selected - and you may join and realize said person has left. I feel guilty about this sometimes and it kinda sucks. zmurko 7,622
I usually post a warning in the shoutbox if I go on a quick job spree, as I usually quit a lot of jobs when doing this. 1 Quote S U N D A Y R A C I N G L E A G U E Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4600-false-crew-request/#findComment-73964 Share on other sites
ScottyB 2,086
The guys pretty much covered it above, I would also like to add that there are some people who are more prone to job hopping with randoms (joining random jobs not hosting). Some poeple do it at certain times others do it most of the time and there are some that dont do it at all. If you notice the same person keeps doing it, then unless your prepared to live in the clouds, dont bother with the invites. The majority (probably 80%) of jobs hosted by other people are rubbish in both settings and content. As much as i would encourage you to join any and all crew members activities you can, this tends to be a game breaking downside if they are trying to join randoms. The best way to overcome this, as Zmurko said is to communicate on the shoutbox so that you can alert people. I, and other members i play with try to host the jobs ourselves as anything you join are usually with contact racing with catchup on (big constant ram fest) and deathmatches are owned and pickups (costs a lot of money and takes away from the specific map). All the best in trying to find good activities to keep you entertained Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/4600-false-crew-request/#findComment-73993 Share on other sites
