G37 3,445 Posted April 21, 2015 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Played this tonight with 8 folks. Quite like this location and it's done properly IMO. We played it as a TDM and understand that by default, it's a regular DM .. but I can't help but wish the ladders were accessible. I know why you blocked them off but I wouldn't personally restrict movement like that. If you are afraid of roof-top domination you can sneak in a grenade somewhere (probably just 1 .. 2 max) to toss up top. You could even construct some more entry points to rooftops because while some buildings only have one point of rooftop access, others I think have more. Some of the ladders that you blocked off you can still make use of anyway. Just something to play with. The reason I went ahead and did it was that I didn't want it to turn into Concrete 2. I'm really not big on rooftop dominated maps. Having said that, I have played it twice, both times as a DM and both of those times the layout has bugged me. With the rooftops blocked off it leaves little space on the north side of the map making that part very cramped. So open access to the rooftops is might just what the map needs. I will take a look at it soon and see what I come up with. Thanks for some great feedback once again. Appreciate it as always. G37 3,445 Posted April 21, 2015 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Yeah I totally get it. I think though, unlike Concrete, so long as you can't RESPAWN on a roof-top .. it's fine. Concrete is a weird one because where it's located, one of the buildings dominates so much of the space and has a lot of access points to get to that roof. For it to be for 16 players it was necessary to have spawns up there. IMO it shouldn't be for 16 and shouldn't have a ton of spawns on the roof tops. Especially if it's default to a regular DM, it's a hot mess. Maybe 1-2 spawns there but I think there's quite a few up top just to fill space. So long as you keep respawns and health related objects off of roof tops, I think you're good. If you wanted to place a better weapon up there to have people utilize it (also a good way to tell if someone's up there because the weapon disappears from the mini-map on pick up), I think that's fine too. Added a few extra access points to the cinema roof, so if anyone camps up there, enemies will come from all places. Didn't place any weapons up there either, so one better stack up on ammo before going up there. And all spawn points are still on the ground.
