While it may be a very uncommon thing to come across, it's still very possible and does have very adverse affects. So I ask you take the short amount of time just to become aware of it. This seems to affect only the PS4, not entirely sure. If you've ever played a Head to Head event in GTA you know there's a "cash wager", the host is able to set a certain amount of cash that is used to "buy in". Once this money has been deducted from your bank (or on hand) it is placed into a pool that is then divvied up to the winning crew at the end of the playlist. 10K is the common stake. I'm not entirely sure if this is related to a H2H (being in a lobby for one previously) but if you EVER notice on the lobby screen of ANY job that there is a "cash wager" in the menu, BACK OUT and DO NOT proceed with the current job. The cash wager has some multiplicative factor attached to it and every job you play going forward (win or lose it does not matter), the dollar amount WILL increase. Once you finally decide to back out you WILL lose this money from your account. It has happened and someone has lost practically their whole savings (millions). From that point it becomes a process of sending in the information to Rockstar and then it's anyone's guess as to when you get that amount restored to your account (proof of it happening will help, especially a video). They at least seem to acknowledge this problem and hopefully it will be addressed sooner than later. The purpose of this announcement is to make everyone aware of this glitch and to pay closer attention to their lobby menus. In short, if you see a cash wager somewhere on the screen and it is NOT a Head to Head event (even if it is an irregular amount - $10K is the norm - I'd suggest caution), back out and do not play the job at hand. To clarify, this is NOT the same as betting (up to $10K when teams are formed). This "cash wager" will be shown on the lobby menu (where the job settings are/radio/etc). G. Fortunately, as stated in the H2H thread, R* did respond almost immediately to my ticket and the missing funds have already been restored while they investigate the actual cause of why this happened in the first place. I literally went from 16M to 1.8M within three TDMs. So yes, it can happen, it has happened, and it will happen. LN will probably chime in tomorrow, but we were meant to play in a head to head and we all joined that. You put a 10k cash wager in and play. The other crew didn't have enough people so we all backed out to play deathmatches.G invited us to his deathmatch and we all joined and played. All of the poeple who were in the H2H joined and no one experienced any problems except LN. Nothing can really be done to avoid it as there were no obvious triggers to cause this. The only thing to do is make sure it doesn't have a cash wager bet on your screen before the job launches. Even if you win you still lose. LN backed out and rejoined and the same problem happened so maybe you need to turn off the system to reset it? The other crew couldn't show so we all backed out. I said I'd host some TDMs instead and see who we could get. The 6 of us and 3 of the opposing crew joined. We acquired 14/16 players for Panic Attack. 3 TDMs later MLB's stake was in the $10M+ range. Weird thing was his side lost the first 2 but he won the last one with us .. but cash was deducted. Come to think of it, when I was doing a search for related issues, I was only able to find the one that Scotty mentioned. That leads me to believe it is perhaps rare, but we should all take the time to take a look at the lobby and the possibility of there being a wager initiated before playing. Thanks again for everyone's help; I would have seriously lost it if I wasn't able to get all of that back. On a side note though, the whole experience prompted me to finally open up a YouTube account, so now I can finally partake in the sharing of videos. I'm a procrastinator, so I probably would have put that off until forever if this hadn't happened.
