Stopped Receiving Invites From Crew and Friends? Invites Disabled?

Recommended Posts

Have you noticed that you've suddenly stopped receiving job invites from other friends or crew members?... Struggled to invite members to a crew lobby?

This is a widespread bug that has resurfaced since the latest title update and I'm sure it has affected every PS4 member in the crew. This issue may be happening on PS3, but I'm not aware of that.

This bug will have a huge affect on some members more than others, here's why:

Job/lobby invites will be disabled for you if you are in a crew, friends, solo or invite only lobby (unless you're with the host).

Rockstar have yet to even admit that this is an issue, DARK crew leader Libra has made a post on Rockstar Support only to be told to uninstall the game https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/communities/public/questions/203225107-Disabled-invites?flash_digest=1f195ed5344c1838213ed26e68f11fe380468eb3, we have both tried this and it does not work.

So until Rockstar actually provide a fix, to start receiving all invites again as normal, you will need to be in a public lobby.

One day the sadness will end.

This happened to me during DnR's Hell on Tuesday. We had 11 in the Lobby, and only 4 showed up when I went to invite Crew.

Yeah.

The 'Invite Crew' section will only show 3-4 players, same goes for 'Skill Matched'.

If you're already in the lobby with the crew, just hit 'Invite All From Session', others crew can be picked out from the 'Invite From Friends' section, but if you're not in the same lobby as the crew then they won't get an invite unless they're in a public lobby.

I get invites to individual jobs just fine in those lobby types (from friends). What I rarely see are PL invites, so yeah, going to a public lobby is necessary unfortunately.

It's like these assholes decided to intentionally fuck up match making so no matter where you are, no matter who you're with, no matter what you're doing, you're gonna get a Heist invite - and that's all you're gonna get. And this holds true.

Another thing that actually sucks too is the invite system when launching a job or PL. You legitimately have to MANUALLY INVITE EVERY PERSON. It will list no more than 4 crew members and/or skill matched players. So, better hope your friends list is full of people because auto invite is practically worthless now. By the time you're done you will have spent approximately 60 seconds clicking the names of people.

Thats what I did, and it worked.

Have the invites been disabled while a crew member/friend is in story mode?  I've been playing SP for the past hour and not a single invite has came through.  Normally, I get a ton of invites while trying to complete story mode.  There are a ton of people online (crew and non-crew member friends) and it seems odd that not a single person would have tried to invite me to something.

I knew something was not right, i always start from invite only lobby because its more stable to load them public lobby ( the loading time……)

but last couple days its been i nightmare to join anyone which i guess the heist update is the reason.

Yeah, invites disabled in story mode too.

There is method to their madness.

Obviously the big thing right now is Heists and server capacity has been exceeding the limits. To combat this they have limited the amount of invites going out to players who aren't in session with you.

Hopefully once the hype dies down and normality resumes they should open up the invite system and return the matchmaking lobby timer back to how it was before.

Try and launch playlists from crew or invite only sessions and try and add as many people as possible to your friends list, if you can't join on one person in the lobby, there's a high chance of being able to join on someone else.

Playlists do seem to be pretty stable now in terms of keeping players in, we may lose one or two during a list but no where near as bad as it was a week or so ago.

I tried to get some races going on my 2nd char. I was in public, and sent out invites to those of similar skill, but it only sent invites to the first four "A" players.

I try using quick job too, but it won't actually pull me into a lobby. Kinda frustrating.

Yeah 'quick join' for races is broken.

4 skill matched players is all the game will provide, it used to be at least 16 skill matched players. Funnily enough, the matchmaking system always suggests players at rank 10 as 'skill matched' for me.

Getting a job lobby up and running has never been tougher, but it's still possible. Open and auto invite is still the best way.

Here's a tip from The GTA Forum http://www.thegtaforum.com/topic/77-rockstar-need-to-fix-the-matchmaking/

The amount of hassle it takes to get games going is ridiculous, I wish for a change I could play GTA Online, and get a spontaneous game going very quickly, it's happened once or twice, but by far in large, despite having 300+ friends and a very active crew, the game is broken.

Heads up if you want players to join you, but you get the error message, about not doing the tutorial, set up a party on ps4, and tell them to press your name, to join you, via the the 'join session' option. Last night it was the only way we could organise an 8vs8.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

:default_sign0081:

Similar to inviting players that are in a public lobby, only that method is sometimes met with 'player no longer in session'.

I'm surprised AJ was able to run that 8 vs 8, the option to invite all crew from inside a H2H is also broken. Think I'll contact him and find out exactly how it went.
