JustHatched 12,123
What is it? And how does it affect handeling? Quote The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it. The Rikster 53
What is it? And how does it affect handeling? Force feedback is more relevant to those playing with a wheel the those with a controller. Do u have a wheel hatch? If ur using a controller than it will mainly relate to how u feel the bumps on the road and the kerbs (through the controller vibrating ) and u may feel it vibrating on braking and changing gear . It doesn't change the handling of the car per se , but more how u feel what the car is doing , when going thru corners and braking etc Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/5615-force-feedback-project-cars/#findComment-89282 Share on other sites
ronin 596
Force Feedback (FFB) on a steering wheel makes the wheel act more like in real life. E.g. when accelarating a car that suffers from torque steer, you can feel the wheel pulling left or right. When driving over bumps, you can feel it shaking. The wheel will also resist when turning, like a real life car. Or when you loose grip, the wheel becomes super loose, making you lose control. It's a very nice thing to have when playing a game like Project Cars as it comes closest to what you get in real life, much more then with a controller especially if you combine it with pedals. It does not really affect the handling as such, but it makes controlling the cars a lot more accurate and precise, because you get physical feedback from the steering wheel. With a controller or a wheel without FFB, finding the limits in a corner is always a bit of a guess, while with FFB you can sort of feel how hard you can push. It's actually easier to find the limits. Good wheels atm would be the Logitech G27, Thrustmaster 300 RS or the 500 RS. Most also come in a package with pedals and a stick shift. Not cheap though, think you would be looking at the range of 250-500 USD? This is what I'm currently using: http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g27-racing-wheel. Also bare in mind that it is best to find a fixed spot in the house/room as it is a bit of a hassle to set up. Also PS4 does not support the G27, but from what I understood there is an after market device that you can plug into one of the PS4 USB slots in order to make it run on the PS4 as well.
