Hey guys, just a heads up about a glitch that I recently found out about.

 

I overheard PTBK talking about it during the H2H the other night, I wasn't supposed to hear it, but I entered the party just at the right time to hear one of them say "One of the other crew are here, don't talk about it". I noticed at least 3 of their players being hidden for full deathmatches at one point or other.

 

I'd like to point out that my reason for putting this out there isn't so we use it to our advantage against crewmates in our playlists that are for crew members only... If you want to use it vs randoms or in other situations then that's none of my concern.

 

As most will know, 3 consecutive deaths in a team or regular deathmatch will cause the losing streak perks to show up on your 'Wasted' screen in the bottom right hand corner (providing you're not already spamming 'X' at this point).

 

There are 3 options that will each last for 30 seconds, quad damage (self explanatory), reveal all players and hide blip. Until recently the hide blip feature via losing streak perks would keep your blip hidden for 30 seconds, but due to a recent glitch your blip will be hidden to your enemies for the rest of that deathmatch allowing you to go unnoticed and possibly causing havoc.

 

So for example - if you were to be killed 3 times with no reply within the first minute of a deathmatch, selecting hide blip from the losing perks on the 'Wasted' screen will keep your blip hidden for the next 9 minutes.

 

Unlike other glitches in GTAO, there is no method required and no steps to follow so I don't think any blame could be attached to players that use it as it's simply a feature that is broken.

 

Not sure if this is happening on PS3 as I'm PS4 only.

So it's time sensitive? You mentioned dying 3 times within first 60 seconds to remain hidden for the remaining 9 minutes. Or does it work any time you get the perk regardless of time left?

 

Sigh. Despite their shitty "personal" settings and shitty map selections, this group is already good. Just seems a bit filthy to me, especially considering the "someone from the other crew is here, don't talk about this glitch". Rubs my the wrong way.

It was supposed to be 30 seconds, same as other perks, but it seems to last the entire DM.

 

I gave an example in the OP when I said within the first minute, but it doesn't matter when you select hide blip. Obviously the more time you're hidden is the greater advantage you'll get. Teammates will see you, but enemies won't.

 

Yeah several times I joined their party while they were saying stuff that I wasn't meant to hear.

Depending on the map I'll use it if it's available, but i was pretty sure people still knew where I was after the time expired if I was in their line of site. I'm really interested to know if that's the case or not though.

I think there is more to it though. I remember a while ago that this was the case. Whenever the other team got the perk, they disappeared for the rest of the DM to both our team and the other team.

Another glitch (not sure if it has been patched) to make all blips disappear is to play a siege mentality and choose hide blips setting. For some reason they will disappear from all other jobs until you restart the game. I'm not sure if that applies only to people who played the game with no blips or to any one who joins the hosts game.

Anyway looking forward to hear how the test goes. Pretty sad that other crews try to use any glitches/exploits that they can to win against us. It truly seems that we are the only genuine crew who wants to make a fair head to head..

Considering the losing perk is my specialty, I will check it out. :lol:

This hide blip glitch has been gone for a long for a fair while as far as I can tell and testing it over the last few days. I certainly do remember it happening a few months ago but now if they are in line of site they will show up on your map.

A new glitch from the latest update is when you die holding a certain weapon, when you re spawn, that weapon will have all the attachments it has in free roam (extended clip, scope, suppressor etc) so it makes a massive difference! Make sure you get the weapons and equip them with what you will want to use and beware of the suppressor as it reduces damage a fair bit, to the point you will lose a lot of kills if the opposition doesn't have it and they are closely matched.

I certainly like it as a feature, it takes away an argument for always using owned weapons, but I think it's a bug. We will all spend all our money on all these upgrades now and then they will patch it so you don't need them :P

I've never been told people cant see my blip even when i select that feature. At times i thought it didn't work as I would select it and still get killed straight away as if they could see my blip. I have had times where i can't see anyone from the other teams blip, I'm sure it does go both ways though.

This is definitely happening again.  It's at the point where I feel bad about using it, but for the last month or so, I have noticed that nearly everyone who uses it once stays off the radar for the rest of the TDM match.

 

Hopefully they fix it soon.  However, it would be nice if R* made these things an option--for example, no perks at all or the ability to hide/see all blips during a match for everyone.

Perks like this are annoying. I really only find myself using it in maps where I've gotten spawn killed repeatedly within the first few minutes, I need to get out of that hole somehow.

 

But how COOL would it fucking be if there was ONLY a mini map to show you:

- your surroundings

- your pick-ups

- your teammates (be cool too if you couldn't)

- your bounds (yes I want visible bounds)

 

Everything else leaves you in the dark with only sound and intuition to guide you. Likewise, fuck Lester, his ass shouldn't be allowed either. To be honest, I'd like Owned Weapons more if your blips were completely and permanently off the radar.

 

Apparently people disappear off the radar WITHOUT opting for that perk, not sure how that happens.
