It's been a while since I made a deathmatch and I don't think I've ever made a 'serious' one, so I thought I'd have a crack at one (there's not a single container on this map). It's in an area that's probably been used to death, with weapons that everybody always uses, but it's a 'work in progress' and I hope that with your input and guidance I can polish it into a halfway decent job.

All feedback is welcome, as ever.

As you already said, it should be minimum 4, and probably 6. It worked ok with 4 of us though. I'm not sure how you have spaced out the spawn points, but 24 people may be too big. I would try and cut it down to 20 at most which means 8 less spawn points. We played it with 2 a side and for 5 mins and somehow I was able to virtually spawn kill someone. I was running around which can make it play up but it's possible there are too many spawn points too close together.

Derelict motel is also set here so you could use that as a guide to how many people to have as a maximum and minimum. You can also play it and pay attention to where you spawn and see how yours compare to it.

There are heaps of rifles. Even for 24 people that would probably be too many. If you always want people to have ammo, then it's ok. I noticed some areas had guns really close as well which isn't needed.

The sniper is rather useless, the only opportunity you would have to use it is if you got it and ran off the map a bit. The advanced rifles have amazing range so you can shoot almost across the entire map with them. I didn't pay much attention to the grenades location but I think they might have been out of the way a bit but I can't be sure because I didn't pick them up.

It works well as it is and is a very simple deathmatch with a run and gun type feel. Because other deathmatches (derelict motel) is in the same location, it would be good to make the weapons a bit more unique to add a bit more variety so it stands out as its own.

You could start with an smg, and place rifles in locations to draw people out and keep them moving (risk vs reward type thing). You could replace the sniper with an rpg since it's the centre of the map and likely to be the place where most of the action is happening. This will also bait people to run out to the centre so it's a big risk to get it. You could also add snipers towards the outside of the map so it's another unique feature that derelict motel doesn't have and allows people who want to snipe a place to go safely and do so. They should be much of a problem though because there is a lot of props in the way and people could easily sneak up on them.

Sorry if I've made it too complicated and taken over it a bit :P have a think about it and see if any of it's how you wanted it to play out and experiment with it. I don't really have a deathmatch that I'm completely happy with yet, they are extremely hard to make right and to try and please everyone.

Your container yourself DM is serious and fun and works really well.

Thanks Scotty, some really good feedback there.

I tried to use props to give some cover to the spawns, I may have overlooked some, but losing a couple of players and their associated spawns will certainly help (it's unlikely that 24 will ever play anyway).

I was worried about players running out of ammo and may have gone a bit nuts with the placement :).

I like the idea of having sniping positions on the outskirts of the map, a rpg to draw people in and starting with a weaker weapon.

I'll re-work it later in the week, see what I can come up with......

Thanks again for taking the time to play it and provide (loads of) feedback.
