djw180 7,008
A full 8 stage cycling tour of San Andreas. There are other options for those who don't fancy cycling. Each stage works on it's own as a simple point-to-point. No need to do them all in one go or in order. I just liked doing them as a cycling tour in consecutive stages each one starting close to where the previous finished.. Default setting is cycles with the 3 race bikes as the only options. Alternatives are off-road, locked to the Sanchez, or motorcycles with all models and customs available. All profiles below very approximate (done by making rough air-race versions of each to get elevation). Stage 1. djw180 7,008
Some cycling tips. This was done as crew challenge and when the times from other people started to come in I realised that I clearly did not know how to cycle in GTA. So I set about learning the game mechanics of cycling and this is what I found. It may not all be totally correct. It is just what seemed to be the case as I tested various things. The basics, you steer with the left stick, L2 and R2 are your brakes, hold X to accelerate, tap X to go even faster. Tapping X, I had just assumed straight line speed was all about how fast you could tap X. But that appears not to be the case. After some tests on a short straight course I think that tapping X at a rate of about 2 taps per second is as fast as you can go. I paced myself at 3 and 4 taps per second and they were no faster than 2. But 2 was certainly faster than 1 tap per second. Leaning forward. You can lean forward by pushing the left stick up. This makes you faster in turns. But does not make you faster in a straight line. I found that if I tried to race with the left stick pushed forward all the time I soon lost control of the bike. So I think you just want to do this for sharp turns only. Crouching down. If you press R1 you crouch down, as a professional cyclist would in a time trial, and go faster. This for me made the biggest difference to my times. DeaD_GooN 1,312
This is quite interesting. Looks like a PL to me. Quote Link to comment https://www.rockstarsocialclub.net/forums/topic/6288-tour-de-san-andreas/#findComment-101530 Share on other sites
