Anyone watch this weeks episode?  Want to hear a crazy theory?  Darryl was communicating with Rick in Morse Code by blinking!

This was seen early in the episode:

A table on how to use Morse code

Now watch Rick look at Darryl and watch Darryl's eyes

Well it’s back and it’s more underwhelming than ever. If this is as exciting as it’s going to be until the season finale then I won’t be going out of my way to watch the episodes. I do really think the series should end very soon. They have lost the chance to end it on a high but now it’s going on too long.

As for the episode itself. It felt like a low budget Micheal Bay film. The continuity was all over the place and peppered with needless explosions. ?

That how I felt when Daryl was driving his motorcycle shooting barrels. It didn't make much sense to me, other than it being a filler moment.

Also a bit annoyed with some things. Once parked outside and with Negan standing within a short distance i am sure someone could and would just shot him as soon as he stepped outside. And why shot down every single window after that, save the ammo! And why did the priest not just kill him once he showed himself in the end, he had a smg in his hands..

Exactly Lann.

The build up to the final battle showed off the sniper skills of the good guys. They clearly have silenced ranged weapons when they picked off the two guys on the roof. Why didn’t those same Snipers take out Negan the second he showed. The main theme of the episode was that it’s all about one man.

Its become a series with lazy writing and action scenes which don’t impress or shock anymore.

My whole thing about the season premiere is that he is either having a nightmare or flash back. Hopefully it will hash itself out briefly in the second episode & pivot in a different direction, but if the season is going to be completely launched from this perspective, 'Houston we have a problem.'

I have to ask although I watched it. Was there any meaningful set pieces in episode 2 that occurred?

Not sure. Saw a lot meaningless “art” shots and plenty of scenes where the guns  were on the infinite ammo setting.

Exactly what I thought myself. LOL!

So AMC wants the Walking Dead series to last 30 - 50 years. Yikes! HBO wanted to extend GOT after the last season, but got flatly rejected. This season 1st & second episodes of the Walking Dead feels like filler episodes compared to where it left off earlier this year. I don't know about you guys but 50 years from now, if I have to use braille to watch it, then Braille it is. Long walks on the beach and a healthy eating will get me there.

Gotta agree with the 'artistic' shots... meh. They have been sneaking into WD slowly over the past few seasons and for me it is in correlation with a slight decline we have seen in the past few seasons as if almost to say 'sorry this episode sucks but have some nice artistic filler to make up for it'. The plot holes and 'moronic combat decisions' are also following the same path IMO.

However despite the gripes I enjoyed the last two episodes a whole lot more than most of last season, I hope it is the same for the rest of the season.

@Smurf interesting about the proposed lifespan, it would be interesting if it happened. I could see WD becoming a soap opera about 'survival in a post apocalyptic world' however for mass long term appeal I fear we would lose the current feel and become more focused on 'relationships' over survival.

Can you smell what the Stone is cooking?

30 years? I’m going to struggle to get through another 30 minutes of this.

The series is definitely using long drawn out scenes of gunfire as filler instead of using creative writing. I was actually surprised to see someone actually run out of bullets. Instead of plot armour Rick had plot ammo. I found it kind of ironic that a major part of this seasons plot is them looking for guns while they are firing more bullets than a rambo film. I have a feeling there was a gunshop in Georgia that had a sale on blanks.

Most of the episode was pretty indistinguishable from last weeks, the only thing that stood out was for the wrong reasons. That Adam Sandler-esque scene with Gregory at Hilltop was a poor attempt at humour.

Think the only reason I’m still watching this is so I can bitch about it.

Worst episode ever, and I love this series. The shootout was the worst scence I ever seen, actually got me angry how they can feel good about releasing such a crappy thing. There must have been a major change in people, budget or something because it feels like a cheap wannabe batman and robin tv series from the 80s. :FIRE:

It so bad I feel like the cast of actors should be blamed for going along with it. So that random guy that came back from the past, having long drawn out conversations with Rick only for Daryl to walk up,  kill him, & move on. Where is the point in that. ? I recommend watching Stranger Things instead, they have their eye on the ⚽ with that series start to finish.
