Ok yeah I’m still watching it even though it annoys the crap out of me.

The latest episode has certainly hit a new low point of the series.

They’ve obviously answered the complaints about there being 0 action between the opening and closing episodes but the magical guns with infinite ammo is going too far now, another poor piece of writing is advancing the plot with completely ridiculous and implausible set pieces.

The attack on the compound itself had probably one of the worst thought out defences ever.

Here we are behind a high fence. The obvious thing to do is to make the attackers work to gain entrance to the inner area. This is lesson one in defence, you don’t just open the gate and let them in.  ?‍♂️ It’s not the first time they’ve done it either.

The next stupid thing is the infection of people with walker blood.

I thought something which was outlined in the very first series is that everyone is already infected. Anyone dying would come back as a walker

What they have done now is breaking one of the principle rules of the series. How can you infect someone whose already infected?

Theres been several times during the seasons where people have covered themselves in blood and had no ill effects.

Its becoming a show with less continuity than a Micheal Bay film!

I guess people get contaminated if zombie blood gets in a persons body.

Covering in zombie blood should be safe as long as you don't put it in contact with an open wound or in your mouth.

I'm more annoyed at the poor decisions by the characters than the occasionnal 'made up science' :D

I did quite enjoy the visual aberrations of the resident "pacifist executioner" ! You know the wheels are turning the wrong way when Morgan's eyebrows both raise as he's trying to maintain his sanity. One of the more complicated characters that seems to always be in a battle to maintain his sanity.

People in the show have been wounded by knives, crossbow bolts etc that have been contaminated and not turned into walkers.

The writers are running out of things to do so they are changing the rules of the universe.

I was suprised by how many saviours survived the ambush in the lights. There was about 12 windows, each with at least one fully automatic magically reloading weapon shooting at a large, well illuminated and stationary crowd of people. Somehow the vast majority of then escaped. I actually thought this episode was going to be the end of Simon due to his poor decision making but obviously it’s being dragged out longer.

Possibly the worst episode yet in terms of common sense writing.

Of course they are running out, it always happens when shows go on forever. I always lose interest in a show after 4 or 5 seasons. Kept trying to enjoy this show but one monotonous speech from Negan was all I could stomach.

One thing this show always does is drag shit out longer than it needs to be.

I am bummed that I missed the elimination of a character I have wanted gone since season one though ;)

Fun Fact:

The Walking Dead was a 1936 American horror film distributed by Warner Bros., directed by Michael Curtiz, and starring Boris Karloff, who plays a wrongly executed man who is restored to life by a scientist

I stopped seeing this when they left the penitenciary.... that was what, season 2???

Z-nation was a far better show than this, mixing humor and horror in a crazy scheme of things, but it has also turned into a stupid soap opera.

The genre also has died a little. Zombies are no longer cool, their time has passed.

Wonder whats next...

Zombies will always be popular.  I just prefer the insane and violent versions that actually deal with Zombies. The Walking Dead has become the living fighting the living with some dead tossed in on occasion.

Parts of this series has become quite stupid. I was VERY annoyed by the scene at the Sanctuary in prep to leave for the confrontation. It looked like a "Joey Chipwood" crisscross close call crash scene that seemed like it never would end. Groups of people crisscrossing each other for no real reason was just plain absurd..

They had a perfect opportunity to end this once and for all. Good guys win, bad guys defeated. Everyone on the right path to a better life but of course they have to throw in a bullshit curveball to stretch it out for even longer.

At least I don’t have to complain about it for a while ?

They havent ended the BS with sir talks a lot ( aka Negan) yet?

I mean, I know what happens in the comics but have not watched any of this season so I have no clue how they are ending his reign on the show.

Has anyone watched S9?

After Season 8 I was pretty sure I'd be done with the series, but wanted to confirm my decision by watching the 1st episode of S9.

Just caught up with the first half of Season 9 and although ep.1 was kind of meh, it kept me there for another one. Ended up watching all 8 and it's definitely way better than last season, although that was a tough one to beat in the worst possible sense. It did get properly questionable by the 8th episode, though.

The mid-season cliffhanger was quite confusing as well...

Spoiler

I was pretty exited about the possibility of evolving zombies, but it seems the "smarter" herds are just the same old herds somehow lead by an unknown number of some whispering humans in zombie-outfits...?  What with all the whispering and the mask that was pulled off of the zombie-man who killed(?) Jesus... what the hell is going on? And have some of the zombies evolved or all of them if they are actually just listening to the whispers of those fake zombies and following them or are the dead the ones communicating after all with the fake-zombies just tagging along? But then why are the fake-zombie guys in there? Who the hell are they? If there will be no sensible answer once again then I'll stop watching for sure. Oh, and don't get me started on the Negan escape. Someone just forgets to lock his cell? All casually like that. Right...

Probably building up to some fucked up situation for all the communities, leaving everything in tatters again and then Rick comes back with an army of the helicopter peeps or something like that to wipe out Negan once and for all. That would be quite a lame storyline, though. I sure as shit hope they have some really good explanations and plans for all this.
