I believe in luck, while at the same time I don't.

I do because "luck" is pretty much you being chosen. An example would be getting a free candy bar from your teacher out of the 26 students in your class room. Or surviving a disease-if you had luck, you would be chosen by fate to survive. 

I don't because it's something we inflicted ourselves with. Usually an event or situations that seems to work in ones favour even though the odds are quite slim is often why we associate "luck" with them. Things like "Omg, I hit a 360 no scope!"is basically a game of chance where once you hit the 360 no scope, the odds have worked in your favour, as a result why you might associate "luck".

A quadratic function can be written in vertex form:

f(x) = a( x-h )^2 + k          *^2 means squared*

The vertex form is helpful because it tells you the location of the vertex (h,k); (x,y)
