The Perseverance Rover is currently investigating, so to tie in we have a team time trial in muscle cars on an appropriately named track.😉
The usual set up for picking teams; sign up now, semi-random pairs will be drawn when we have enough, recent winners excluded are Me & Banks CC229, Banks & Spin CC227, Proto & Banks CC224 (anyone else see a pattern there?)

During last Sunday Racing League, a desire to do more rallycross racing has come up, so I call for our creators and offer them a great opportunity to come up with a rallycross track of their own.
What is Rallycross you ask?
Rallycross is a combination of rallying and circuit racing. It is head-to-head short, sharping racing on mixed surfaces (dirt and asphalt) contained within amphitheatre venues. High profile drivers are equipped with RX Supercars with over 600bhp and the ability to accelerate from 0-60mph in less than two seconds – faster than an F1 car....
What is Rallycross you ask?

Rigged Random Car Extravaganza Pt5

Come and join us on Wednesday 10th of March at 8 PM British time for Part 5 of the Rigged Random Car Extravaganza. After a meet up in free roam behind the Sumac Restaurant in Del Perro we will launch into a playlist of races where you will only know what car we will be racing each race when we get to the race lobbies.
Each car is determined by a random generator with a few exclusions like not more than 3 cars from the same class, used recently in an event or often used cars in regular races (I.E. cars like the Krieger in Supers).
We will run GTA races so we can spawn in cars for those who do not have them.

Guess The Movie Quote

Guess what movie the quote is from. Bonus point for naming the character.
The member with the correct guess will post the next quote. Or give the opportunity to another member. The quote giver will confirm the correct answer. If a new quote hasn't been posted within 3 days, I'll post one to get things going again.
A leaderboard will be kept to find RSC's ultimate film nerd. Guessing the movie gets you 2 point with an additional point for naming the character. Only the first member with the correct answer gets the points. If that member doesn't name the character and another member does before the answer is confirmed, the latter will get the bonus point.
And no googling, of course. If you get help from a friend/family member, you'll have to get that person to start playing GTAO, join the site and attend at least 2 PL's a week.

Once Upon a Time in the West [RSC Film Club 27]

The category for this month's selection was the Sight and Sound director's poll of the 100 greatest film of all time. The winning film, chosen by @djw180 and @omarcomin71 placed at number 44 in the last poll from 2012 (the poll is conducted every ten years), Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West.
This was the first film he made after the incredible The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, the last part of the Dollars trilogy, with this film being the first part of it's own trilogy of loosely connected films, the Once Upon a Time trilogy. I haven't seen any films from that trilogy so I'll leave it up to Sight and Sound to give a brief introduction and overview of this film.

Sergio Leone brought international renown to Italian spaghetti westerns with his violent ‘Dollars’ trilogy. Written in collaboration with Bernardo Bertolucci and Dario Argento, his next film was an epic compendium of borrowed situations from the cowboy films he loved.
Beginning with a bravura, drawn-out prologue in which gunmen await the arrival of the noon train, Once upon a Time is a story of the ruthless advance of the railroad and of the dangerous men, including the mysterious Harmonica (Charles Bronson), caught up in the struggle for power.
Slow, tense showdown sequences are made electrifying by Leone’s distended widescreen compositions and Ennio Morricone’s score, which favours each of the protagonists with their own motif. Henry Fonda plays against type as the rail company’s sadistic gun-for-hire.
I'm incredibly excited to check this out as I'm a huge fan of Leone's other films, and a lot of people call this the best film he ever made.

Come and join us on Wednesday 24th of February at 20:00 UK Time for The Favorites! Just turn up to the parking lot of the Vinewood Bowl in your favorite eligible Muscle car you sign up with.
We will determine who has the best Sports Classic before we start a playlist to determine the winner of The Favourites!
We will race all Muscle cars against each other where people will vote before each race which they'd like to drive in. To not have things like people having to race Slamvans against Yosemites I have omitted the fastest and slowest in the class. They are divided into two groups since the class is so big and has such a wide variety of pace to come to the following list of eligible cars. This is the faster of the two groups.

GT Sports Car Cup: WEDNESDAY 10th FEBRUARY

Now that the snow is all over Scotland and is playing havoc with y plans in real life it has at least reminded me that San Andreas is now a snowless zone and we can go ahead with the previously postponed GT Sports Car Cup.
I'll leave the previous sign up up to remind everybody and you can just say AYE or NAY all over again below.
This Wednesday we'll be racing GT Cars against each other on some of our favourite tracks to see which is the best driver/car combo. You pick one car and you race it all night. Some of these cars are better on the tight and twisty stuff whereas some are better in a straight line so each will have their moment to shine. We'll be doing contact racing and reverse grid for each race.
The 6 cars eligible are:
Massacro Racecar ( i predict a @Trashbags)
Jester Racecar (I predict a @badingaaa and a @AlexHat29
Schlagen GT ( I predict a @Paulie and a @mulder)
8F Drafter (I predict a pink @TheFox2000unitand a @CatManDozawith a roof rack)
Elegy Retro Custom (I predict a @JuniorChubband a special blue @doubleg213)
Coquette D10 (I predict a @Mark Verstappen)
@Warriors-Tenis unpredictable.
It's hard to predict whether @Asladwill turn up...
They must have a racing livery to compete because.... lots of reasons but mainly it just looks better.

Crew Challenge 228 – Represent the Crew
This is the challenge to coincide with our crew anniversary. It's something different; a solo challenge with scope for you to do pretty much what you like that matches the title. At the end we'll have a vote to decide the winner (vote open to all crew, not just those in the challenge).
The challenge is to do something to impress witnessed by randoms, save a screen shot or short video, upload it here and the crew will vote on who has impressed the most.....
Examples are things like, beat lot of people in a race, DM or be MVP in team job. The more randoms you beat and / or the harder your task (e.g. you used a slow car) the more impressive those voting may judge it. ..

Come and join us for Mystery Car on Wednesday 3rd of February at 20:00 GMT. We will start out in free roam at Lester's Contact Missions Lockup from where we will have to follow the clues to find the Mystery Car. Once the car is revealed we will all buy it if needed, modify it, then spend the night racing it.
The price of the car will be less than $100k so don't worry about having to spend millions to join in.
The usual rules will apply, don't bring the emergency services along with you in free roam, don't kill other players, race clean and respect the other racers.... Basically don't be a bellend.

Oh boy, we're starting 2021 off with a doozy. The winning, randomly drawn film for January is @Sinister's pick of Can't Stop the Music.
Produced by Allan Carr, who had a small success with another musical a few years earlier, you may have heard of it - Grease, and directed by Nancy Walker, her only feature film directing credit, Can't Stop the Music is a fictional biopic of The Village People starring the group as themselves alongside a pre-Police Academy Steve Guttenberg and a pre-transition Caitlin Jenner. This is a film I have seen way more than it deserves, I could write my review now without re-watching it, so believe me when I tell you that it is bad. This is a very bad film. Everything about it is bad. The acting is awful, the sets look cheap, the direction is uninspired - especially for a musical, some of the songs are good but the majority of them are cheesy disco pap, the story is nonsensical and often boring, and I love it all. This is a "so-bad-it's-good film in the same legendary league as The Room, Hercules in New York and Troll 2.
So my advice is to grab a few beers, a bottle of wine or whiskey, or whatever it is you use to mess with your brain and get ready for some absolute garbage of the highest order. This is a film you won't forget once you've seen it, even though you may want to. I really can't wait for the reviews on this one!
