Come and join us on Wednesday 2nd of September at 20:00 BST for the Coq Cup! Just turn up to the Von Crastenburg Hotel in Vinewood (Corner of Clinton Avenue & Power Street) in any upgraded Coquette.
We will determine who has the best taste in cars before we start a playlist to determine who is the master of all Coqs!
Don't worry if you don't own all/any of the Coquette's, we can spawn them in for you.
All 4 types Coquette will be raced on the night.

This month the RSC Film Club is getting medieval on your *ss as we head back to the Middle Ages thanks to @Squirrel and @djw180. The winning selection was my choice (it's not a fix, I swear!), Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.
This legendary epic (in all meanings of the term, this is almost three and a half hours long) tells the simple story of a small village constantly raided by bandits. When the villagers are at their most desperate they decide to go out and try to hire some samurai to fight them off. While the story is simple, the characters and their relationships are not, and thanks to the time we're given with them, and the excellent writing and performances, you grow to deeply care about these people and their fight. While my personal favourite character is Kyūzō (Seiji Miyaguchi), the calm, stone-faced badass, the best performance is Toshiro Mifune as Kikuchiyo, the loose cannon of the group with a tragic past.
I won't say anymore about the plot so as not to spoil it, but this film has it all, action, drama, suspense, comedy and tragedy, and is truly a masterpiece of film history. This will also become the oldest film we have covered, being released in 1954 so beating Judgment at Nuremberg by 7 years. It has stood the test of time, how will it fare against the RSC Film Club.

A 2 player team time trial, in custom vans. Teammates must use different vehicles please. As usual sign up now and we'll draw semi-random teams later. Recent winning pairs will be excluded, (Ally & Lann CC 215, Spinn & Dodge CC 213, Pete & Schumi CC 211)

Our extra dose of medieval action comes in the form of David Michôd's The King, nominated by @Squirrel. This film is an adaptation of Shakespeare's plays Henry IV Parts 1 and 2 and Henry V. This is the latest of many adaptations of Shakespeare's epic, the most notable versions being Laurence Olivier's from the 40's and Kenneth Branagh's 80's rendition. Big shoes to follow, but with a cast including Timothée Chalamet as Henry Prince of Wales later Henry V and support from the likes of Robert Pattinson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Joel Edgerton, this stands a good chance of living up to the reputation of its predecessors.

Fast & Furious Round 8: Motocross

Racing event repeated each last Thrusday of the month.
Every event has a different theme, so you have to be ready (if necessary) with the car needed. Sometimes it isn't necessary to buy any car (if it is too expensive).
Only crew members can score points for the ranking, but it isn't necessary to be in the crew to participate: you can join as a guest.
10 first positions score points (10, 9, 8, ... , 2, 1); those points will be important, because there is a ranking for each country and for the drivers. For each country it only counts the points of the 2 best drivers of each country.

For July the film club was tasked with choosing a female-directed film, with the winning entry coming from Canadian filmmaker Mary Harron, who started her career as a music journalist writing for Punk magazine, and was the first person to interview The s*x Pistols for an American publication. She started her film career with the independent movie I Shot Andy Warhol, which is about a failed assassination attempt on the famous pop-artist. This infusion of violence and pop-culture came to the fore once again in her second film, American Psycho, based on the notorious Bret Easton Ellis novel, and our film for this month thanks to @Con and @Squirrel...

Attire: Dress Your Murderous Investment Banker Best or like one of the Ladies in the film !!!
Transportation: Drive your most pretentious Supercar or Sports Classic or Luxury Limo...and bring your spare Axe in case someone is broken down on the side of the road and needs your assistance.
In honor of our faithful friend Spinnaker, I am hosting an "early" Friday night playlist themed after this month's RSC Film Club selection: American Psycho!! Please join us if you can, we will be "Walking On Sunshine"!!!

We will meet in my office to "Compare Business Cards".
Head out to pick up our "Cran-apple" stained bed sheets from the "Dry Cleaners".
Depending on time of day, either pick-up some "High Priced Hookers" or just "Return Some Videotapes".

This is solo challenge, a time trial in free roam in which you steal a big rig and trailer and drive it from Paleto Bay to Harmony via the Sawmill and Stab city. This must be done from a free roam session, any type of lobby is allowed. You must have a trailer attached at all times, if it comes lose reattach the same one or abandon that attempt....

- As a low ranking newbie I only own a few cars but would like to get everyone’s feedback on what they prefer.
- My cars so far....
- B class - Rocket, Raiden RS, Vandal (Van)
- C class - RebelRat, Muddigger
- A class - nothing yet
- I believe the Rocket is what everybody starts off with. When it’s fully modded it’s a pretty nice car. Seems to be quick enough to complete and strong enough to withstand a beating.
- The Raiden RS is very quick but is light on strength. If it takes a head on collision it’s nearly done for. However I really like it on the rally cross type tracks.
- I love the Vandal for demolition derby’s. It’s a bit slow and can easily be knocked over but it can really take a pounding. It’s a beast!
- Both the Raiden RS and Vandal were purchased in one of the DLC add on’s.
- Both of my C class cars are fun as well.
- The RebelRat drives like a muscle car. Reminds me of driving the Dominator in GTA. I really like it. Seems to be an overall decent car for the C class.
- The Muddigger is my C class demolition derby vehicle. Takes a beating and can dish it out. Both were included in a DLC.
- I still would like to buy a small quick car in the C class. Maybe the Killer Bee?
- Right now I am saving up for the Speedemon in the A class. It unlocks at rank 32. (Currently tank 30) there are others that random‘s seem to prefer like the Speedbird, Panther RS, Roadcutter, and others. They all seem to be well balanced but the Speedemon looks to be crazy fast. 🙂
